Lt Col Sunil Kumar (Retd)

A decorated veteran of the Indian Army with over 35 years of distinguished service, with extensive mountain and high-altitude experience across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and the North East.

A former Black Cat Commando with a coveted tenure in the National Security Guard (NSG), he brings elite standards of operational planning, physical endurance and crisis management to the world of trekking. Having served for years in some of the most challenging Himalayan terrains — from dense forest trails to snow-bound ridges above 18,000 feet — he has led numerous long-range patrols, high-altitude missions and rescue operations where meticulous planning and team safety were paramount.

After an illustrious career in uniform, he chose to return to the mountains he once served in — to help others discover them safely and responsibly. At Himalayan Advent, he heads Operations, Route Planning, Risk Assessment and Team Training, ensuring every expedition is run with military precision, environmental respect and absolute focus on safety.

Pramod Rawat

Pramod Rawat is an experienced mountain professional and the Operations Director at Himalayan Advent, responsible for managing the company's on-ground trekking and tour operations.

He holds Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Course certifications from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), giving him professional training in mountaineering, mountain safety and outdoor operations.

With his practical knowledge of the Himalayas, Pramod oversees trek planning, route coordination, logistics, team management, safety procedures and on-ground execution of trekking and adventure programmes.

His role is focused on ensuring that every expedition is professionally organised, safety-conscious and smoothly executed — from the initial planning stage to the completion of the journey.
